• Fabricating steel components in accordance with technical drawings and job specifications
• Operating CNC cutting machines, flame cutting torches, and other fabrication tools
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and site plans
• Measuring and marking out steel for accurate cutting and assembly
• Using hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Ensuring high-quality workmanship and compliance with relevant standards
• Liaising with supervisors and team members to meet project deadlines
• Performing physical tasks including lifting, climbing, and working at heights (with assistance from gantry cranes where needed)
• Maintaining workshop safety, cleanliness, and organisation

• Proven experience (2 years minimum) in steel fabrication, profiling, or similar metalwork trades
• Ability to interpret construction and fabrication drawings accurately
• Familiarity with steel cutting and shaping processes
• Competence using a range of hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
• Comfortable working at heights and in physically demanding environments
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Physically fit, dependable, and punctual
• Forklift licence an advantage (but not essential)
• Must have a valid driver’s licence and reliable transport
• Must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand (citizen, resident, or valid visa)
