Pig Farm Manager

We're looking for an experienced and dedicated Pig Farm Manager to join our team. This is a hands-on role at our indoor piggery, managing a 400-sow, batch farrow to finish operation. Key Responsibilities:- Breeding and Production: Manage and have in depth knowledge of all aspects of a farrow to finish pig farm, including implementing and monitoring KPI’s of the breeding program and overseeing sales targets are met. This includes an inhouse nucleus of purebred sows for gilt replacements.
- Animal Health and Nutrition: Monitor and maintain the health of all pigs across the farm. You'll be responsible for monitoring and ordering appropriate feed and nutrition; vaccination programs are implemented and adhered to; and keeping detailed records to ensure excellent animal health outcomes and maintain compliance.
- Farm Operations: Oversee all daily farming activities. This includes scheduling and performing general maintenance and servicing of buildings and equipment; planning logistics of pig movements; as well as managing and ensuring compliance to all biosecurity protocols.
- Team Leadership: The farm has a motivated team, and you will be expected to train and supervise staff and contractors as needed to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently, safely and to a high standard.
- Competitive Salary: A pay rate of $75,000 to $90,000 per year, based on experience.
- Regular Hours: Work an average of 44 hours per week, with a minimum of 35 and a maximum of 46. This is an 11 day on, 3 day off roster.
