Senior Business Analyst, WellingtonFixed Term to end of June 2026Based at, National Office, WellingtonWe are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our Income Portfolio within Service Delivery.In this role, you will contribute to continuously improving our income support systems, making them easier to understand and navigate, while ensuring fair, consistent, accurate, and timely support is provided to New Zealanders.The Income Portfolio involves a variety of dynamic work programmes, including cross-agency initiatives aimed at enhancing access to services, income, and overall wellbeing.

We need someone who is energetic, confident, and driven to succeed, with a practical approach to identifying business needs and supporting broad-ranging work programmes.You will be part of a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary, Agile product delivery team, working collaboratively with others from across the business.

Your ability to think clearly, attend to details, and provide high-quality advice on complex business issues is essential to your success in this role.
About the role / Mō te tūnga Work as a Senior Business Analyst within an Agile delivery teamAnalyse and understand business needs, translating them into fit-for-purpose user stories and requirements with clear acceptance criteriaAssist in designing business process or systems, to capture business requirements and problem definitionsCollaborate effectively with stakeholders across MSD to ensure user stories are well-understood, and desired outcomes are achievedApply strong analytical and critical-thinking skills to identify and address pain points effectivelyMaintain extensive knowledge of MSD's products, services, processes, best practices, operational policies, and system functionalityProvide comprehensive support to the Delivery Lead and Director throughout all stages of the product lifecycle, ensuring effective planning, execution, and continuous improvementProvide high-quality reporting and feedback to stakeholders, users, and team members About you
