About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated General Medicine Physician to join our service, working primarily on the general medical ward with participation in a rotating weekday roster within the Acute Assessment Unit (AAU). This role provides a balanced mix of inpatient ward-based care and acute medical assessment, offering exposure to a wide range of clinical presentations.The role will also include outpatient or acute assessment clinics. The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care, while contributing to the efficient assessment, management, and flow of patients through the AAU.
The AAU is a new facility located in the soon to be opened east wing building. Youll be working alongside a team of committed professionals delivering comprehensive medical services to our diverse community. The AAU focuses on the assessment and treatment of medical patients with an expected hospital stay of less than 36 hours.

Vocationally registered (or eligible for registration) with the Medical Council of New Zealand
Fellowship with RACP or equivalent
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
