Switch Board Design Estimator
Excel Switchgear is a locally owned company with over 20 years experience designing and manufacturing switchboards for electrical contractors. Under new ownership, the business is building on a solid foundation of technical expertise plus a new drive for improvement and growth.
This newly created role will work closely with The GM and MD to provide design and estimation through to manufacture for clients. It is a hands- on role in a fast paced manufacturing environment, requiring strong technical expertise, commercial awareness and the ability to manage multiple projects.
Responsibilities include :- Design LV Switchboards to meet NZ standards and client requirements
- Prepare accurate and timely quotations
- Prepare detailed drawings, schematics and layouts using AutoCAD.
- Ensure designs are practical and manufacturable
- Provide technical support throughout the manufacturing process to the team.
- Manage projects and deadlines
- Have a Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering
- Have an advanced level of proficiency in AutoCAD
- Have at least 3 years experience in electrical design and/ or estimating in a commercial or industrial environment.
- Have excellent written and spoken English and be a professional communicator capable of building relationships with clients and the team.
This position would suit someone who can work autonomously, is highly organised and commercially astute.
