Location: Auckland
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

Pay rate: Between $35.00-$40.00 per hour, based on work experience.

Key Responsibilities in this role:
  • Developing, implementing and reviewing health management plans and occupational health and safety plans
  • Preparing and implementing plans and strategies for the safe, economic, and suitable disposal of commercial wastes
  • Advising on and enforcing legislation, implementing prevention programs and strategies for communicable diseases, food safety, wastewater treatment and disposal systems, recreation and domestic water quality, contaminated and hazardous substances, and minimising air, sea, water and noise pollution to improve health outcomes.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Developing, implementing and monitoring programs minimising workplace and environmental pollution involving chemical and physical hazards
  • Promoting ergonomic principles within the workplace such as matching furniture, equipment and work activities to the needs of employees
  • Monitor and audit workplaces, processes, chemical and physical hazards for legislative compliance
  • Training employees in personal protective equipment and safe working procedures
  • Training employees in occupational Health and Safety procedures
  • Investigate workplace incidents, accidents and near misses and recommend corrective action to prevent recurrence and coordinating the return of injured workers into the workplace
  • Implements and evaluates risk Management policies and procedures
  • Stay up to date on industry standards, regulations and best practices to advise management son safety related matters
Applicants with following attributes are preferred:
  • Minimum of 3 year’s experience as a Health and Safety Officer or similar role / and or relevant qualification.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • A commitment to safety practices and adherence to industry regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills and Handling customer professionally
  • Great presentation and Personal Hygiene, and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, and public holidays as required
