After entering the NZ market in 2025, the business has built strong foundations and is now moving into its next phase of structured, scalable sales growth. The local team is growing and the next hire will play an important role in helping increase market share and shape the future of the business.
We are looking for a Business Development Manager to drive new business across New Zealand, with a focus on the North Island.
This is a role for a commercially sharp, credible and energetic salesperson who knows how to build trust, spot opportunity and win new business.
Why this role is exciting
This is not a role built around servicing a large inherited client base. It is a role for someone who enjoys opening doors, building pipeline, developing relationships and converting opportunities into long-term commercial outcomes. You will be given a small existing customer base, but the core focus is new business growth, particularly across medium to large customers.
You will be joining a business at the right time. Established enough to have momentum, but early enough that your contribution will be seen, valued and felt.
What you will be doing
You will be responsible for growing ORAFOL’s presence in the NZ market by identifying, developing and converting new business opportunities.
Your focus will include:
- building a strong active pipeline quickly
- winning new business across target customers and project opportunities
- developing relationships with business owners, production leaders, operations managers, GMs and other decision-makers
- growing share of wallet and market presence across relevant sectors
- leading value-based sales conversations that focus on customer needs, application and outcomes
- preparing proposals, progressing negotiations and closing opportunities
- maintaining accurate pipeline activity, forecasts and reporting through Salesforce
- working closely with the NZ team and broader Australian business to support growth
Requirements
We are open to candidates from industry-aligned or adjacent sectors, provided you bring the right sales capability, commercial style and customer credibility.
You may come from:
- sign, print, graphics, self-adhesive, film, vinyl, laminates or tapes
- architectural products
- building materials
- interior finishes
- retail fit-out
- project-based specification or solution sales
- other adjacent sectors where consultative, relationship-led sales is key
What matters most is that you are a true solutions seller. Someone who can build trust, understand the customer’s environment, identify the right opportunity and position a solution that adds value.
You will likely bring:
- proven experience in business development or solution-based sales
- a track record of winning new business and growing medium to large accounts
- confidence engaging with operational and commercial stakeholders
- a trusted adviser style with strong relationship-building skills
- the ability to ask good questions, challenge constructively and guide customers towards a solution
- a commercial mindset with a strong focus on outcomes
- energy, resilience and follow-through
- the ability to work well in a growing business where not everything is fully built yet
