CAD Designer, Cabinetry & CNC - Motorhome
A small workshop in Wairau Valley is looking for a Fusion 360 CAD expert to help design plywood cabinetry and flat-pack furniture for custom fit-outs. The role involves creating real-world, build-ready designs for CNC production. You’ll be working directly alongside the build team, so your designs will be cut, assembled, and tested almost immediately.
This role requires someone already confident in parametric modelling and CNC nesting. Prior experience in motorhome, marine, or tiny home cabinetry design is a major advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
Create detailed cabinetry and furniture models in Fusion 360
Prepare CNC-nested cutting files with accurate spacing and engraving
Generate technical drawings, exploded views, and hardware BOMs
Optimise components for speed of build and material efficiency
Iterate designs based on builder feedback and real-world testing
You Must Have:
Advanced experience with Fusion 360, including parametric and CNC workflows
A portfolio demonstrating cabinetry, furniture, or CNC-based projects
A solid understanding of manufacturing principles and workshop realities
Strong attention to detail and practical problem-solving skills
On-site availability in Wairau Valley (10–20 hours per week)
Bonus If You Have:
Experience in motorhome, boat, or tiny home interior design
Familiarity with plywood construction and CNC manufacturing constraints
Pay & Hours:
$25–$35/hour depending on experience
Casual, part-time position (15–25 hours/week)
On-site only (no remote work)
