Venues and Administration Officer - Tokoroa
Te Kaunihera aa Takiwaa o Waikato (Waikato District Council) serves a large and diverse area, key towns include Raglan, Huntly, Ngaaruawaahia, Tuakau and Te Kauwhata. Smaller settlements include Gordonton, Matangi, Tamahere, Meremere, Port Waikato and Pookeno.

About this role:
We have an opportunity for a Venues and Administration Officer to join our Community Venues & Events Team. The role is about ensuring community events happen safely, sustainably, and are beneficial to our communities while offering varied administration support to the wider Facilities Services Team.
What I do?- Work with community groups and individuals to process incoming events applications, act as the SME on the online booking system, liaise with internal and external customers regarding event H&S, compliance, and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate established community days such as Horotiu Planting Day and assist with Council run events on occasion
- Support with general administration tasks such as service requests, documentation, system and process updates, and other work as required
- General administration experience
- Understanding of the importance of health & safety
- Relationship building skills and the ability to work with people from all backgrounds
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent work streams in a day
Ideally, you'll have experience engaging in the community, working with multiple stakeholders, and an understanding of local government. Naturally, you'll be organised and show your initiative and enjoy working with a diverse range of customers and stakeholders.

Additional Information
Location: Ngaaruawaahia and GordontonHours of work: 32 hours per week, fixed-term for 12 months
