Silviculture Forestry Worker - Chainsaw operator - Invercargill

A full time permanent position is available for a chainsaw operator. Monday to Friday, 7.00 am to 4.00 pm. Minimum 30 hours per week, maximum 40 hours per week. Based at Otautau. This role involves the following chainsaw work: Trimming and clearing forestry roads, maintaining forestry tracks, and line cutting.
You may also be required to assist with firefighting, controlled burning and fire suppression if necessary.
Key responsibilites: To safely carry out the following: To remove trees and vegetation from forestry roads; to maintain tracks by trimming trees, and to line cut within commercial production forests in Southland. To be available for fire suppression, controlled burning, and firefighting when required.
The successful applicant will have a minimum of 2 years working in forestry with chainsaw experience. Must be honest, reliable, able to work well within a team, take instruction, and demonstrate pride in your work; be physically fit, self motivated, have a positive attitude, and strong work ethic.Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing; ongoing testing also required. References from previous work will be required
