About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and innovative Dietitian to join our Allied Health Team as Clinical Leader in Nutrition and Dietetics.

As Clinical Leader you will provide day-to-day clinical, professional, and cultural leadership to the Nutrition Dietetics team ensuring equity of care and evidenced based practice for our community. You will work closely with the Allied Health Leadership Team supporting the Allied Health Team Managers in clinical aspects of recruitment, onboarding, professional development and waitlist management.

You will contribute to the strategic planning of Allied Health including development of the Rural Generalist Capability Framework.

About Us

Te Tai o Poutini West Coast Nutrition Dietetics Team consists of three (2.3FTE) dynamic clinical Dietitians based in Greymouth, who support our community throughout the West Coast (Karamea to Haast). The team covers all aspects of in-patients, out-patients and community settings, working within a Rural Generalist model of care.

This role also supports clinical practice and the connection between Health New Zealand and Dietitians at West Coast Health (Primary Health Organisation) and a registered Nutritionist at Te Mana Ora Community and Public Health.

About you

You will be a New Zealand Registered Dietitian with a minimum of five years clinical experience (ideally with a basic understanding of Enteral/Parenteral Nutrition, Diabetes, Oncology, Surgical Nutrition and Gastroenterology) with a passion for leadership and developing the profession, ensuring equity of systems and evidence based practice in the Rural setting.

Other desirable attributes include:

  • Experience with clinical teaching, training and development of staff
  • Experience in quality /service improvement activities
  • Experience in people leadership or management is desirable
  • Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
