About the Role

We are looking for a New Zealand Registered Dietitian to join our small team of enthusiastic, energetic and dedicated multidisciplinary professionals. This role would be ideal for a recent graduate or someone who is looking for a change of scope or change in lifestyle.

We have a small team of Dietitians who are an integral part of the Allied Health and wider Te Tai o Poutini West Coast team. This role will give you the opportunity to further your experience working across a range of specialties and advance your practical skills with a rural generalist approach, and opportunity to travel around the beautiful West Coast.

About the Service

Te Tai o Poutini West Coast Nutrition Dietetics Team consists of three (2.3FTE) dynamic clinical Dietitians based in Greymouth, who support our community throughout the West Coast (Karamea to Haast). The team covers all aspects of in-patients, out-patients and community settings, working within a Rural Generalist model of care.

This role is also within the wider West Coast Nutrition Dietetics team connecting with Dietitians at West Coast Health (Primary Health Organisation) and a Registered Nutritionist at Te Mana Ora Community and Public Health.

About you

You will be a New Zealand Registered Dietitian with a passion for rural health (or a willingness to learn). You will provide excellent clinical care, be self motivated and able to work autonomously or within a team with an ability to relate and communicate clearly with a range of healthcare professionals, patients, and dietetic colleagues.

You will be able to manage a caseload that may present a variety of medical conditions, cultural requirements and rural challenges. A full driver - s licence and dietitian prescribing endorsement are essential.

Other desirable attributes include:

  • Experience working within multi and inter-disciplinary teams
  • Experience in quality /service improvement activities
  • Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
