Diesel mechanic

Satherley Logging (2006) is a family owned and operated Napier based log transport operation, servicing the Hawkes Bay Region.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent, full time Diesel Mechanic to join our service and maintenance team in our Napier (Pakowhai) workshop.

Working in a small, hardworking team, you will ensure that all equipment and vehicles are reliable, safe to operate and maintained to a COF standard at all times.

• Servicing and maintenance tasks on our company vehicles and equipment, our truck brands are Kenworth, Mack and Scania. We also have Caterpillar wheel loaders and excavators on site.
• Cummins, Mack (Volvo) and Scania engine knowledge is an advantage, we have diagnostic tools for fault finding.
• Occasionally carry out welding repairs of logging trucks and trailers using MIG welder or arc welder.
• Follow established job card, stock management and ordering procedures.
• Comply with our Health and Safety policies and procedures.
• Participate in ongoing training and development.

• National Certificate in Heavy Motor Industry (Automotive Heavy Engineering) Level 4 or equivalent is preferred.
• New Zealand Class 5 Motor Vehicle Licence(preferred)
• 5+ years industry experience
• Practical mechanical aptitude with a commitment to quality workmanship
• Good time management, strong work ethic, and be a collaborative team player.
