You will also collaborate closely with the Divisional Clinical Director, Clinical Nurse Director, and Associate Director of Allied Health to drive continuous improvement and strategic development of our services. In this role, you will:Lead, Inspire & Innovate – Work closely with passionate Clinical Heads and senior leaders to drive performance and foster a values-based, high-performing service.Champion Equity – Lead initiatives that address inequities and improve outcomes for Māori, Pacific, and underserved communities.Drive Strategic Change – Influence service planning and contribute to the future design and delivery of perioperative and pain services.Build Culture – Cultivate a culture rooted in kindness, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

You’ll bring:Relevant tertiary qualification in Clinical/Health or Business5 years’ management experience in a large, multifaceted healthcare environment including staff management, financial management and change managementStrong track record of managing complexity and risk whilst maintaining high standards of service delivery.Good business writing skills- reports, proposals, business cases etc… to a high standard.Ability to think strategically as well as operationally and plan service delivery.Experience in delivering change and performance with and through teams, by engaging them in the directions and delivery of plans, establishing clear work priorities, delegating effectively, ensuring capability to deliver, monitoring performance, and providing timely, regular feedback.Consultative leadership style.Ability to take and lead people on a journey of growth and change.Ability to build strong effective teams and networks.Excel at operating in a fast-pace, collaborative environment.Working at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
