Diesel Motor Mechanic

Our client is a reputable business that specialises in service and repair for forklifts, construction equipment, and trucks. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic keen to work for this industry leading employer. The role is based in Lower Hutt, and Stellar Recruitment is looking for an exceptional candidate to work for this fantastic company.

• The role is for a minimum of 45 hours per week
• Hourly wage from $33 to $40 per hour
• Overtime rates and call out allowances
• You will need to be comfortable working outdoors regularly

• Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in engines and parts
• Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions and components, and repairing and replacing worn and defective parts as required
• Complete time books, records, job sheets and related documents accurately
• Provide excellent customer service and professional communication

• Strong time management skills, including scheduling meetings and working around the schedules of others
• At least three years of relevant work experience
• You must have some previous experience with terminal tractor units
• Relevant trade qualification is desirable but not essential
