Join Our Team at Saints Café, Restaurant & Bar!

We are excited to announce that we are looking for two experienced permanent full-time Cooks to join our bustling restaurant located in the beautiful Hanmer Springs, North Canterbury. This role involves preparing, seasoning and cooking in our kitchen for our restaurants valued customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Be familiar with daily and ongoing menus, functions, and specials.
• Propose new dishes and submit menu items when invited.
• Seek advice from senior Chefs for consistency and skill growth.
• Ensure readiness for daily, function and special requirements.
• Maintain necessary stock levels with the right quality and quantity.
• Ensure each dish component meets standards, is properly cooked, and delivered on time.
• Follow recipes and instructions carefully.
• Clean preparation and service areas daily; clean other areas as required.
• Adhere to the Food Control Plan and all set standards.
• Inform Head/Sous Chef of stock shortages or ordering needs.
• Prepare and cook raw materials and stock to required standards, avoiding waste.
• Treat all staff fairly and with courtesy.
• Comply with hygiene regulations and report maintenance issues promptly.
• Perform and other duties as reasonably required by the Head Chef, Sous Chef, Restaurant Manager or Owner.

Ideal Attributes:

• 2-3 years’ experience in a fast-paced restaurant or relevant cookery qualification
• Honest and reliable
• Proven interpersonal skills
• Personal pride in presentation and professionalism
• Naturally enjoys being around people and contributing to a positive work environment
• Efficient, accurate and strong appreciation for following systems

Position Details:

• Minimum guaranteed hours: 30 hours per week.
• Pay rate range: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour.
• Days of work: Monday to Sunday on a rotating roster, including weekends, public holidays, school holidays, and late nights.
