Metal Fabricator Welders - Canterbury region

Metal Fabricators required all throughout the Canterbury region!

OneStaff is currently seeking experienced and reliable Metal Fabricator Welders to join our growing team. This is a full-time permanent position with guaranteed minimum hours, offering the opportunity to work on a variety of commercial, industrial, manufacturing, and construction projects across New Zealand.

We are looking for motivated individuals with a strong work ethic, excellent time management skills, and a strong commitment to health and safety on site. Flexibility to travel and work across multiple regions throughout New Zealand is essential.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Fabricating, installing, and repairing metal products such as vents, handrails, boilers, aircraft and boat parts, beams, and girders for construction and engineering projects
• Preparing metal materials for fabrication and assembly
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints
• Measuring and marking out cutting and bending lines accurately
• Setting up and operating metalworking machinery including rollers, drill presses, flame cutters, brakes, and shears
• Welding metal components using MIG, TIG, and stick welding techniques
• Checking design specifications and measurements before commencing cutting and fabrication work
• Fabricating and assembling metal structures and components to specification
• Grinding, polishing, and finishing completed products
• Inspecting finished welds, joints, and fabricated products to ensure quality standards are met
• Making adjustments and repairs where required
• Maintaining clean and safe work areas, tools, and equipment
• Following workplace health and safety procedures at all times
• Performing general labouring tasks associated with the role, including cleaning, maintenance, and site support duties relating to core visa duties at assigned work sites
• Other duties assigned by supervisor

• Pay rate between $30.00 and $35.00 per hour depending on experience
• Guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week
• Full-time permanent employment

Skills and Experience Required

Applicants must have:

• A minimum of 2.5 years’ relevant metal fabrication or welding experience, OR
• A relevant qualification or equivalent

Location

Work may be required across multiple regions throughout New Zealand, including Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawke’s Bay, Taranaki, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington, Nelson-Tasman, Marlborough, Canterbury, West Coast, Otago, and Southland.
