Duty Manager
Auckland
Tasks will be:
A minimum of 30 hours of work per week. Maximum 45 hours.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the restaurant at assigned times
- Manage and support front-of-house and kitchen staff
- Manage bookings, walk-ins, and table allocations efficiently
- Handle customer complaints or feedback professionally
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and liquor licensing laws
- Open and close the restaurant, including cash handling and end-of-day reporting
- Liaise with owner in stock control, inventory checks, and supplier coordination
- Promote a positive work environment and team culture
- Liaise with Manager in regard to repairs, safety issues or any other matters relating to the kitchen and kitchen equipment.
- Assist with cost of production assessments, portion sizing and recommending selling prices.
- Understand and work in a manner that OSH and food and hygiene compliance is maintained at all times.
- Ensure smooth service and customer satisfaction at all times
- Have hands-on experience in a commercial Indian kitchen environment is essential
- Minimum 6 months relevant work experience in a supervisory or duty manager role in hospitality
- Strong understanding of Indian cuisine (Indian, Mughlai, Tandoori) and dining culture preferred
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to multitask and perform under pressure
- Must be available for full-time work - minimum of 30 hours each week – maximum 45 hours
- Must be flexible to work rostered shifts including late nights and weekends
- Must be reliable and punctual
- Able to pass drug, alcohol and Police checks
No education qualifications required for this role. However, a relevant qualification + the right attitude will be considered a plus!
We Offer: A competitive hourly wage rate of $ 30 per hour.
