Job Description:
SWADESH ENTERPRISES LIMITED T/A PIZZA CREW is looking for one talented COOK at Auckland, and where you will be responsible for ensuring the restaurant’s smooth kitchen operation and customer satisfaction by preparing delightful food. We guarantee a minimum of 30 hours per week with a pay rate between $28.00 to $30.00/- an hour. Required for our restaurant located at HENDERSON, AUCKLAND, NZL.
Job duties:Some of the duties and responsibilities you will be responsible for include:
- Examining foodstuffs to ensure quality and perishability.
- Ensure clean and tidy working areas to prevent cross-contamination
- Advise Kitchen staff on food preparation, cooking techniques and food safety
- Regulating the temperature of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment.
- Preparation of food item such as being Fusion Cuisine covering Deep pan Pizza and sides along in line with Moroccan – Italian and Indo Kiwi cuisines other items as per the menu following the recipes, as well as plating.
- Preparing a range of fusion food items, including 43 types of deep pan pizzas and 34 type of siders accompaniments, in line with menu recipes and presentation guidelines across Moroccan, Italian, and Indo-Kiwi cuisines.
- Train the kitchen staff and provide them feedback on timely basis.
- Take a note of all stocks and inform the manager about the required stock ordering.
- Ensure deliveries are aligned with FIFO (First in First Out) to online customers.
- Preparing, marinating, and cooking seasoning and inhouse sauces.
- Seasoning food during cooking.
- Portioning Food, placing it on plates and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes
- Storing food in temperature–controlled facilities.
- Maintain kitchen health and safety compliance.
- Other duties to ensure smooth operation kitchen aligned with business.
- Instruct the delivery staff according to the orders from specific customers.
- Keep all kitchen utensils, tools, and equipment well-maintained.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience to work for the role. However, qualification of NZQF Level 2 can substitute the requirement of work experience.
- The selected candidate will receive detailed training.
- Basic communication skills and basic knowledge of technology to operate the equipment.
- Able to work independently and make decisions in the kitchen for the betterment of the business.
- Pass random drug and alcohol tests (when required)
- Clear criminal record
- Have an excellent manner with people, especially team members.
- Reliable and flexible to change.
- Must be able to work across any shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Must be able to work in split shifts
- Must be a fit, quick thinker, reliable, trustworthy, and self-motivated
- Able to lift weights up to 25kg.
