ECE Cook (BestStart Te Atatu Peninsula)

BestStart Te Atatu Peninsula is seeking a passionate, organised Centre Cook to join our team and support the daily health and happiness of our tamariki through wholesome, home-style cooking.
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Centre Cook to prepare nutritious, wholesome meals for up to 100 tamariki each day. This role involves following a set four-week rotating menu while also contributing to seasonal menu planning, ensuring meals are fresh, balanced, and aligned with the season.
As part of our centre, you will work collaboratively with kaiako and whanau to cater to dietary, cultural, and religious requirements, ensuring every tamariki feels respected, included, and cared for. Kai is at the heart of our centre, and through your delicious, nourishing, and aromatic cooking, you will have the opportunity to win the hearts of our tamariki each day.If you take pride in preparing kai with aroha, value whanaungatanga, and want to be part of a welcoming centre where kai brings us together, we would love to hear from you!
This is a permanent part-time position working 40 hours per week.
What you'll do:
- Plan and prepare morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea, focusing on healthy and nutritious options
- Create delicious, culturally diverse meals that support the growth and development of tamariki
- Cater thoughtfully to a range of dietary needs and allergies
- Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen environment
- Use technology to design menus and manage weekly food orders
- Work within a set budget to make the most of food and supplies
