The Speciality & Addiction services cover the Community Alcohol& Drug Service, Kennedy unit, Christchurch Opioid Recovery Service, AnxietyDisorders Unit, Whāngai Aroha, South Island Perinatal Mental Health and SouthIsland Eating Disorders Community teams.This is a pivotal role in clinical and strategic leadershipwhich will see you at the forefront of our service delivery, helping shape theway we operate through leading and developing Allied Health Services that willsustain us well into the future.This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative andoutcome- focused clinician who has a deep commitment to work in collaborationacross disciplines and is driven to achieve professional and operationalexcellence!
About YouAs an Allied Health Consultant, you will work in partnershipwith the Clinical Director, Nurse Consultant and the Service Manager of theSpeciality & Addictions Services to facilitate the ongoing development ofmental health best practice, promote inter-disciplinary models of care and leadservice improvements that deliver improved outcomes for consumers and theirfamilies/whānau.Reporting to the Director of Allied Health you will be partof the Allied Health Directorate, also working closely with the Allied HealthClinical Leaders, Allied Health Educator and other Allied HealthConsultants.
The role is firmly focused on leadership within theservices, however you will also have strong clinical experience within yourarea of practice.You will be based at Hillmorton Hospital but workingwith our regional Mental Health Services and across the Canterbury Healthsystem.Your key responsibilities will include:Providing day to day strategic leadership, in order to deliver a sustainable, high quality service that contributes to the achievement of organisational goals.Providing clinical leadership for the Allied Health workforce with a focus on workforce development, safe and high-quality care, outcomes focussed practice and integration that support strategic development and organisational priorities.Supporting the integration of research evidence into practice and the implementation of contemporary models of care;Develop, maintain and evaluate organisational systems to facilitate delivery of safe, quality care;Providing clinical expertise at an advanced practice level within a specialist clinical area, SMHS.To be successful in this role you will have;Experience in a leadership role is an essential but support for professional development will also be given;Ability to articulate a compelling vision for all Allied Health disciplines;Advanced level of knowledge and clinical experience; Experience in leading improvement in service delivery and or practice development;Strong professional networks and relationship skills;Allied Health qualification and current Annual Practicing Certificate is essential;Working at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuringexcellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
