Production Team Leader

Our client is one of Southland's leading aggregate exporters. They supply premium aggregate for all projects from swimming pools, landscape and garden features to flooring and countertops All their aggregate products are sourced in New Zealand and are 100% natural and they ship anywhere in New Zealand as well as globally.

We are looking for candidates to fill a full-time permanent position of Production Team Supervisor to manage the daily operation within their aggregate processing plant based in Awarua, Invercargill. There is also room for advancement over time

Duties include:
  • Direct operations in our production shed as well as develop and implement production plans to meet targets and customer demands
  • Lead, motivate and supervise a team
  • Communicate effectively with team, other departments and stakeholders
  • Physically fit to undertake general labouring and heavy repetitive lifting
  • Strong focus on safety ensuring procedures and regulations are followed
  • Adaptable, flexible and have an overall good knowledge of all machinery
  • Monitor quality of extracted materials ensuring it meets specifications
Candidates MUST have:
  • Class 4 and W.T.R endorsement with at least solid experience on Front End Loaders
  • Prior experience in a quarry or screening environment is disireable
  • F Endorsement with forklift operator's certificate and a minimum 3 years' experience operating a forklift lifting to 3.5 tons with prior experience picking up pallets preferably
  • Have reliable mode of transport to and from work.
  • This is a very much a hands-on physical role and not a desk job, so you need to physically fit and able

Key responsibilities for this position include organizing the production process of our plants, ensure the products are made to the right specifications and are ready on time while maintaining a safe and clean work environment. All candidates must be safety conscious, production focused and be able to participate in a teamwork environment.

This position requires a pre-employment health check along with drug and alcohol test, including a functional assessment and lung function test, to assess physical capacity for the role. This cost would be covered by the client if you are the successful candidate.
