Cook - Middle Eastern cuisine

We are looking for three motivated cooks to join our team at our busy Auckland restaurant.

Our restaurant is based in west Auckland and specialize in Middle Eastern food and sweets.

As part of your job, you are expected to perform the following tasks:

• Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
• Check quality of ingredients
• Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
• Cook food in various utensils or grillers following Middle Eastern menu
• Monitoring food production and ensuring highest quality
• Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
• Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
• Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
• Prepare drinks and sheesha
• Complying with occupational health and safety regulations
• Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages

To be successful in your application, you are required to have a minimum of 2 years of experience in food preparation, such as factory food worker, kitchenhand, commis chef or cook.

This role is for permanent employment with a guaranteed 30 hours of work per week and pay rate of $25.00 per hour.
