The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, maintaining kitchen hygiene standards, and ensuring food quality and presentation meet our high standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and cook full range of authentic Indian meals according to menu specifications alongside inspecting and selecting ingredients for cooking.
- Ensure all dishes are presented attractively, garnished appropriately, and delivered in a timely manner, especially during peak service hours.
- Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are maintained by adhering to health and safety regulations including safe food handling, allergen management, and cross-contamination prevention.
- Monitor stock levels of ingredients such as spices, meats, vegetables, oil, diary, and specialty items.
- Assist with inventory management by keeping a record of items running low and promptly notify management to replenish supplies.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient operations.
- Report any equipment faults, safety concerns, or kitchen issues promptly to management.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and food preparation areas alongside ensuring maintaining clean and hygienic workstations, including preparation areas, cooking equipment, cutting boards, and storage units.
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience as a cook in a commercial kitchen.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow recipes accurately.
- Good interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills.
- Able to work flexible shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Passion for producing delicious food.
- Strong attention to detail skills.
