Cook

We are looking for 3 full-time Cooks who are sincere, enthusiastic, and with a sufficient understanding of Japanese cuisine.

Basic Requirements:

• At least one years’ relevant experience, or level 2 or above qualification.
• Be fit enough to work under pressure in a busy kitchen.
• Must be able to work on weekends and work overtime.
• Must be flexible to work lunch and dinner shifts and be able to manage two shifts in a day.
• Must be able to work on weekends, Christmas and holiday seasons (Some Public Holidays may be closed).
• Full commitment is required.
• Be reliable, responsible and punctual.
• Working hard and healthy.

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook food accordingly
• Season food by using Japanese cuisine cooking techniques
• Portion food, placing on plates or takeaway boxes and adding gravies and sauces.
• Ensure quality of food are always delivered at the highest standard and present to customers in a timely manner
• Assist chefs by checking food stocks and place order with suppliers.
• Teach and supervise kitchen junior staffs the cooking procedures by using your cooking knowledge and experience if needed.
• Assist chefs for planning menu and create recipes.
• Working with other chefs to discuss food preparation issues.
• Prepare dietary food to meet the customer’s special needs.
• Keep kitchen tidy and clean to meet health and hygiene regulations.
• Manage frozen and fresh food

In return MMR Takapuna will offer:

• Good pay from $25 to $30 per hour.
• 4to 60hrs per week on the roster.
