Gardener

We are looking for a practical, reliable Gardener to join our team delivering high-quality public gardens, streetscapes, parks, and amenity areas throughout the Fiordland community.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working with plants, notices the details, and takes pride in creating spaces that residents and visitors can enjoy year-round.- About Us
Our team delivers a wide range of services across Fiordland, including parks and reserves, public gardens, streetscapes, playgrounds, facilities, and community amenities. We are building a team culture focused on professionalism, teamwork, accountability, and pride in our work.
- About the Role
- Responsibilities include:
Weeding and garden presentation
Pruning shrubs, perennials, and small trees
Mulching and soil improvement
Fertiliser application
Pest and disease identification and treatment
Irrigation monitoring and basic maintenance
Seasonal planting and garden rejuvenation
Litter removal and presentation checks within garden areas
Assisting with landscape improvement projects and community beautification initiatives
Using tools, equipment, and vehicles
What We’re Looking For- Essential
Physically fit and capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions
Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
Commitment to health, safety, and professional standards
- Preferred
Traffic Management qualification (or willingness to obtain)
Chemical handling / Growsafe certification (or willingness to obtain)
Knowledge of plant identification, pruning, and garden maintenance practices
Experience operating outdoor power equipment and small machinery
