About the Role - Maintenance Divisional Manager
We're looking for a dynamic leader with road maintenance expertise who's ready to take on a new challenge and make a meaningful impact. Your workplace will be among stunning scenery in North Otago, based in the historic and vibrant town of Oamaru.You'll lead the delivery of Whitestone's Waitaki maintenance contracts, driving innovation, performance, and long-term value.
As Maintenance Divisional Manager you will be a part of the Operations Leadership Team and will have significant autonomy to lead a skilled team across a range of maintenance activities. You will be responsible for driving excellence across the Waitaki Road Maintenance Contract ensuring not only that obligations are met but continually challenge how things are done to deliver smarter, safer and more efficient outcomes for our clients and communities.
You'll bring energy, insight, and a solutions-focused mindset, enhancing existing contracts, identifying growth opportunities, and strengthening Whitestone's position as they embark on an ambitious journey to be recognised as the region's most trusted civil and maintenance contractor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Building strong and productive relationship with stakeholders, existing and new
- Tendering and negotiating maintenance contracts.
- Leading, coaching and mentoring staff.
- Leading business growth in road maintenance.
- Managing contracts, services, finances, and reporting.
- Ensuring compliance with H&S, environmental, and quality standards.
- Assisting with the development of long-term business plans, budgets and forecasting.
Key Requirements:
- Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in roading maintenance
- Proven success in leading and managing civil and /or road maintenance contracts or a related discipline
- Experience coordinating multiple teams and sub-contractors.
- Leading diverse teams and identifying areas of development.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen
- Proven commitment to a safety culture.
- Excellent problem-solving and risk management skills.
