As the largest inpatient neurosciencefacility in the South Island, it is a busy medical and surgical environmentcaring for a complex patient group with a diverse range of neurological andneurosurgical conditions.About the RoleOur clerical team provide a key role in the effectivefunction of our ward.
The work involves transaction of admissions, discharges,transfers and management of patient records.Working in the reception area you will be the first point ofcontact for patients, whanau, visitors and various hospital and health providerstaff.To be successful in this role you will ideally be from aclerical background, be an excellent communicator and have fantasticorganisational skills.
As front of house, you will need a friendly andwelcoming disposition and a willingness to help those around you.Responsibilities include:General clerical and administrative tasksEntering information to the patient management systemBooking patients for clinic appointmentsAnswering phones and greeting patients and their familiesDelivering great customer service About youSkills and experienceThis role requires the following:Have administrative experienceHave an eye for detail and a high level of accuracy in your workBe an excellent communicator and uphold a professional manner with patients and colleaguesHave strong computer skillsIdeally have a health background or a basic understanding of medical terminologyBe able to prioritise and keep calm in busy situationsDatabase experience is desirableWorking at HealthNew ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Orais dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
