Here’s the job: you’ll be out on the Electra network, based from our Kapiti Coast Depot, doing the hands-on mahi, maintaining, building, and repairing the network that keeps homes warm, lights on, and businesses running. You’ll climb poles, run cable, fix outages, and front up when the pressures on.

Our purpose is to operate our region’s electricity network safely and effectively and support the growth and electrification of Kapiti and Horowhenua. - NZ Registered Line Mechanic Level 4 or equivalent
- 3+ years’ experience within the electricity distribution industry
- Full class one Driver’s Licence
- Registration with Electrical Workers Registration Board
- A passion for best practice health and safety
- High level of personal fitness – ability to lift bulky equipment (up to 30kg)
- The ability to undergo and pass pre-employment drug and medical tests, and a clear criminal history check.
- A high level of workmanship and dedication to your crew, the business and the community.
- Hold a class two drivers’ licence (desired)
- Be trained in the use of EWP vehicle (desired)
In-depth technical understanding and knowledge of the electricity distribution industry and a passion for our industries health and safety requirements is a must to ensure the ongoing safety of our community, our staff, and our customers.
