About the Role
The successful candidate will provide on-site monitoring, surveillance, and quality assurance (MSQA) services for drainage, pavement, and general road infrastructure works.
You will act as the Engineer’s Representative where required, and collaborate with senior engineers, contractors, and council clients to help deliver resilient civil infrastructure outcomes.
This role also offers the opportunity to be involved in a variety of other infrastructure projects across the country, depending on capacity and skills alignment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide MSQA and/or Engineer’s Representative duties on civil infrastructure projects.
- Monitor physical works such as:
o Pavement stabilisation and rehabilitation
o Minor earthworks and slip repairs
o Roading maintenance or upgrades
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and SevenRivers team leaders for issue resolution and work coordination.
- Issue site instructions, draft and review variations, assess payment claims, prepare payment schedules, and carry out other Engineer’s Representative functions in accordance with NZS 3910.
- General project management functions such as planning, coordination, and stakeholder communication as required.
- Maintain site documentation, QA records, and progress photos.
- Review and verify compliance with design drawings, technical specifications, and contract documents.
- Support health, safety, environmental, and cultural compliance on-site.
Preferred Candidate Profile SevenRivers Ltd is seeking a capable and experienced individual to join our growing team in the role of Engineer’s Representative / MSQA Specialist / Project Manager. This role will support the delivery of rural and regional roading projects throughout Tairawhiti and across Aotearoa.
Qualifications:- Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar.
- SiteSafe or equivalent safety certification preferred.
- 5+ years working in roading or general civil infrastructure environments.
- Practical knowledge of MSQA processes and contract observation.
- Familiarity with NZS 3910 and construction contract administration.
- Experience in rural, remote, or community-led project contexts desirable.
- Clear and professional written communication.
- Strong observational and documentation habits.
- Ability to work independently while engaging in a broader project team.
- Proficiency with digital tools for site-based reporting.
- Knowledge of NZS3910
- Work on impactful civil projects across New Zealand
