Chef

We are currently hiring for the role of Chef (4x Positions) for our restaurant in Auckland.

Pay rate: $24 per hour

As a Chef your duties will be as follows:

• Plan the menu and organise food preparation and cooking activities that it meets quality standards.
• Preparation and cooking of menu items, gravies and sauces, etc.
• Design menus, manage kitchen budget, including food cost, labor cost, and equipment maintenance.
• Innovate modern fusion dishes that appeal to diverse palates while preserving cultural authenticity.
• Prepare and cook the food to the highest standards.
• Monitor food stocks and accordingly place an order.
• Ensure that all the dishes are cooked well and presented beautifully on time.
• Train and guide kitchen staff and junior chef.
• Delegate work to kitchen staff.
• Ensure customer satisfaction through food quality and presentation.
• Implement proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures.
• Conduct regular training and inspections to maintain a safe working environment.
• Ensure kitchen cleanliness and food safety standards meet or exceed local health regulations.

Job Requirements:

• Must have a minimum 3 years of work experience or Level 5 qualification in Commercial Cookery.
• Thorough knowledge and practical skills of cooking techniques.
• Good time management skills.
• Ability to work in a team and under pressure.
• Understanding of hygiene and health and safety regulations.
• Knowledge of food preparation, cooking and food presentation skills.
• A positive attitude.
• You should be comfortable working in a multi-ethnic environment.
