About the RoleJoin our maternity team at Health New Zealand I Te Whatu Ora, Southern at a key time of change where you will meaningfully contribute to our kaupapa of providing a safe and positive childbearing experience to all expectant pregnant people in our region.As the Midwife Manager, you will lead and support the Lakes Maternity Unit in Queenstown providing clinical and operational leadership to ensure the service is responsive to the changing needs of our community and health system.Some key deliverables include but are not limited to:Provide professional and clinical leadership for the Lakes Maternity Unit to ensure safe and effective delivery of maternity care, identification and mitigation of clinical risk, and continuous quality improvementProvide operational leadership to ensure the midwifery unit operates effectively, safely and sustainably on a day-to-day basisEnsure the service is appropriately staffed, best practice human resource standards are met, and staff are supported and managed to maintain a cohesive and productive teamEnsure Maternity Unit operates within budgets for the financial year, and work in collaboration with the District Midwife Manager to develop risk mitigation strategies for unexpected expenditures; participate in developing and managing annual and three-year capital expenditure plansManage unit quality and risk programmes; lead and manage certification and accreditation within Maternity UnitAbout UsSouthern Midwifery support a very diverse maternity community spread across the region, providing care to whānau in urban, rural and remote areas of Southern region.
