Piano Teacher: Part Time
Music Box Academy is looking for a piano teacher to join our friendly and growing team in Wadestown, Wellington.
This is an excellent opportunity for a music student, graduate, working musician, or experienced teacher looking for consistent afternoon work during the school term.

Current teaching availability includes:
Tuesday- 3:30pm - 6:30pm
- 3:30pm - 6:30pm
Lessons are taught one-on-one at our teaching studio in Wadestown. We teach students of all ages and experience levels, with a strong focus on making music enjoyable, engaging, and tailored to each student's interests and goals.
The ideal applicant will:
- Be confident teaching beginner to intermediate piano students
- Have strong music reading ability and a solid understanding of music theory
- Be comfortable teaching from written music and helping students develop reading skills
- Be professional, organised, and reliable
- Communicate well with students, parents, and staff
- Arrive prepared and maintain structured lessons
- Be enthusiastic about helping students develop long-term musical skills and confidence
Formal qualifications are welcome but not essential. We are primarily looking for someone with strong musical knowledge, a positive attitude, and the ability to connect with students.
Additional instrumental skills are a bonus but not required.
We are looking for someone who can commit to teaching consistently throughout the school year and become an important part of our students' musical journey.
Starting rate: $35 per hour, with opportunities for increased hours and pay progression over time.
Applicants must be 18 years or older and have reliable transport.
