Chef de Partie – Full Time
Location: Cuba Street, WellingtonEmployment Type: Full Time (Minimum 40 hours per week)
Pay Rate: $25–$29 per hour, based on experience and ability
One of our long-standing Chef de Parties is heading overseas, and we’re looking for a talented and passionate professional to take their place. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced kitchen and wants to grow their culinary skills within a supportive team.
As a Chef de Partie, you will play a crucial role in executing our seasonal menu, contributing to the ongoing success of our award-winning establishment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a range of dishes to a high standard under the Head Chef’s guidance
- Run your own section (Pans and/or Larder) after training
- Manage prep and ordering for your section
- Assist in the development and implementation of new menu items
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards
- Mentor junior staff and foster a positive work culture
- Collaborate with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to deliver an outstanding dining experience
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar Chef de Partie role in high-quality kitchens
- Relevant culinary qualifications (e.g. NZQA Level 4 Cookery) or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of modern cooking techniques and kitchen operations
- Passion for seasonal, ethical, sustainable high-quality ingredients
- Excellent time management and multitasking skills
- A team player with a great attitude and a commitment to high standards
