We're also committed to enabling aviation participants to support economic growth in New Zealand's aviation sector. About the role The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) is seeking a skilled Advisor, Planning and Support to join the Aviation Safety Oversight Group.
This full-time, permanent position is based at our Wellington office. In this role, you will work closely with the Manager, Planning and Support to provide vital support across the group, ensuring the efficient allocation of resources and effective prioritisation of tasks.
As a key liaison, you will facilitate communication between multiple teams, especially those requiring input from inspectors, and collaborate closely with groups focused on operational policy, practices, guidance, and learning and capability delivery.
The salary band for this position goes from $83,600 to $116,327 with the mid-range being $99,963. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader Authority for the same or similar roles.
What we're looking for We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can effectively support the planning and coordination efforts within the Aviation Safety Oversight Group. You should have strong organisational skills, the ability to manage competing priorities, and excellent communication skills.
Having a problem-solving mindset is crucial for this role, coupled with a customer-focused approach and a commitment to continuous improvement, will be key to your success. You should also bring: Experience in advising on or implementing triage frameworks, workflow management, and prioritisation processes to enhance operational efficiency.
Proven ability to manage conflicting demands and advise on appropriate allocation of time and resources, ensuring stakeholders needs are met effectively. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing participant and stakeholder correspondence, particularly in responding to complex or lengthy applications.
The ability to identify areas for improvement within existing planning and triage processes and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in planning, documentation, and adhering to regulatory processes to meet compliance standards.
A demonstrated track record of building and maintaining effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
