**He angitutanga | The Opportunity:**

As a **Chef / Chef de Partie** within the **Air New Zealand Lounge at Christchurch Airport**, you’ll support the Executive Chef by running your section with precision and pride. You’ll contribute to menu execution, culinary production, and food quality while ensuring all operations align with Air New Zealand and Compass Group standards for safety, presentation, and guest experience.

This is a **Permanent Full Time Position** rostered across 7 days of the week. Therefore, you **MUST** be available to work during weekends.

**Ko o kawenga | Your Responsibilities:**
  • Operate and manage a dedicated kitchen section, preparing and presenting food to premium lounge standards and Air New Zealand specifications.
  • Support menu and product development by assisting with recipes, portion control, quality improvements, and presentation standards.
  • Work collaboratively with the Executive Chef and kitchen team to optimise service efficiency, food quality, and cost control.
  • Coach and support team members, ensuring correct procedures, productivity, and consistent culinary standards.
  • Maintain full compliance with Health & Safety, food safety, hygiene procedures, and cleaning schedules at all times.
**He korero mou | About You:**
  • NZQA Level 4 Cookery qualification (or equivalent) with at least three years’ experience in a professional kitchen environment.
  • Passionate about food quality, presentation, and delivering a premium guest experience.
  • Calm, reliable, and able to work under pressure while maintaining a positive, professional attitude.
  • Confident working within specifications, budgets, and operational frameworks.
  • A strong team player with the ability to mentor others and contribute positively to kitchen culture.
