With 12 plants across the country, they are a powerhouse in food production and innovation – and right now, their Whanganui plant needs a skilled Refrigeration Engineer / Service Technician to join the team.
The Role
In this critical position, you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day running and monitoring of all refrigeration and cooling systems on site. You’ll also play a key role in continuous improvement, ensuring operations run smoothly, efficiently, and safely.
Your responsibilities will include:- Daily monitoring of boilers, freezers, and water treatment systems
- Carrying out freezer defrosting and routine testing
- Responding quickly to breakdowns and repairing faults
- Fine-tuning, balancing, and optimising systems for maximum efficiency
- Ensuring all fittings, seals, and electrical components meet performance standards
- Promoting and maintaining top-tier Health & Safety practices
What You Bring
We’re looking for a trade-qualified refrigeration professional who thrives in complex, high-performance environments. The ideal candidate will have:- Relevant refrigeration trade qualifications and licences
- Experience managing large cool store operations
- Proven expertise in ammonia refrigeration systems
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Previous experience in a large manufacturing plant
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to juggle priorities
