About the Project

Be part of one of Auckland’s largest transport infrastructure projects – a multi-year urban transformation initiative that will deliver new rapid transit infrastructure, major road upgrades, dedicated bus lanes, and improved cycling and walking connections.

This high-profile project is currently under construction and will play a vital role in shaping future transport links for East Auckland.

The work involves complex staging, significant earthworks, and key structural elements including bridge and station construction.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the project team. This is a great opportunity to work on a nationally significant project, with a Tier One civil construction contractor, alongside industry leaders in project management, engineering, and commercial delivery.

You’ll be responsible for supporting financial and contractual elements of the project while working in a collaborative, high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer subcontractor payments, claims and variations
  • Track and report on project costs, forecasts, and budgets
  • Support procurement and tender evaluations for civil works packages
  • Maintain cost tracking systems, manage risk and opportunity registers
  • Assist in preparing monthly reports and financial updates for internal stakeholders
  • Work closely with site teams and engineers to monitor work progress and ensure financial alignment
Skills & Experience
  • 4+ years’ New Zealand experience in a Quantity Surveying role in civil infrastructure.
  • Understanding of NZS3910 contracts and NZ payment processes.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple subcontract packages and report against budgets.
  • Strong Excel and cost reporting skills; knowledge of systems like JDE or similar is a bonus.
  • A tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying preferred.
  • Must be New Zealand based and have the right to work in New Zealand.
