Looking for an opportunity to make a significant impact on sustainable farming practices while working closely with a passionate team? Look no further!We're in search of two dedicated Dairy Farm Assistants to join our dairy farming team at Ngai Tahu Farming.
You’ll play a key role in supporting day-to-day operations, ensuring stock health, pasture performance, and environmental care. This is a hands-on role where you’ll work closely with the Farm Manager to keep things running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities – Nga Kawenga Takohanga- Assisting with livestock handling and health checks
- Helping with pasture management and general farm maintenance
- Operating machinery and embracing new technology
- Contributing to a positive, values-driven team culture
- Full Driver’s
- Experience in livestock and pasture management
- Ability to handle farm equipment confidently
- A proactive, team-focused attitude
- Commitment to sustainability and continuous learning
- Understanding of, or willingness to learn, Ngai Tahu values and te reo Maori
- Life & health insurances
- 5 on 2 off roster outside of calving.
- Modern warm accommodation
- Close knit community with monthly BBQ’s
- 320ha effective fully irrigated by pivots.
- Peak milking 901 cows.
- A Halter Farm.
- Runoff for wintering 10 minutes away.
- 64 Bale fully automated rotary cowshed, with ECR’s, in bail teat spraying and auto drafting.
- Modern and well-maintained facilities and equipment.
