Biological Sampling and Client Accounts management

This is a field-and-office based role that requires attention to detail, accuracy in reporting, and good communication skills.

The employee will assist with biological and physico-chemical water sampling, quality testing, geothermal heating, pipework, client account management, and digital communications, including website and social-media/marketing content management.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Collect and test water samples from pools and related systems following standard bio-physical and chemical parameters.
  • Record results accurately and maintain documentation in compliance with company procedures.
  • Assist with bookkeeping and accounting tasks including invoicing, client accounts, and data entry.
  • Maintain and update company databases, files, and online systems.
  • Support communication with clients, prepare service reports and assist in scheduling maintenance visits.
  • Develop and maintain the company website and social-media accounts (e.g. Instagram, Facebook, or others).
  • Create and publish visual and written content that promotes company services and client engagement.
  • Participate in field visits when required and assist with technical inspections or water sampling in different sites.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Tertiary qualification and/or relevant work experience in biology, environmental science, water quality testing, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in accounting support, client management, or administrative duties.
  • Familiarity with water sampling methods and testing for bio-physical and chemical parameters.
  • Competence in digital platforms such as Microsoft Office, Canva, or Google Workspace.
  • Experience in Content creation, social-media management and website content updates (WordPress, Squarespace, or similar CMS).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking ability.
  • Full driver’s licence preferred (or ability to obtain one).
  • Must be reliable, responsible, and able to work independently and as part of a small team.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in a related field.
  • Ability to legally work in New Zealand (or eligibility to apply under the Accredited Employer Work Visa).
  • Satisfactory health and character checks, as per Immigration NZ standards.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Full-time, permanent role.
  • Standard working hours: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday).
  • Overtime or weekend work may occasionally be required depending on project schedules.
  • All equipment, safety gear, and training will be provided.
  • Work-related travel will be compensated or company vehicle provided when applicable.
