Experienced Shop Manager – Automotive Industry Focused
We are seeking a full-time Shop Manager with hands-on experience in the automotive industry. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced business environment and has a solid background in customer service.
Skills and Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience
- A related qualification at a minimum of bachelor’s level, such as Business Management, Business Administration, or International Business, may substitute for the required experience (overseas qualifications must be comparable to the New Zealand standard)
- Planning, directing, and coordinating the day-to-day operations of the automobile shop, including mechanical services, repairs, and sales of automotive products.
- Developing and implementing marketing strategies to promote services, attract new customers, and retain existing clients.
- Supervising and managing staff, including but not limited to mechanics, sales assistants, and administrative personnel, to ensure high service quality and productivity.
- Monitoring sales performance, preparing reports, and analysing data to identify opportunities for business growth and improved efficiency.
- Overseeing stock control, ordering automotive parts, tools, and consumables, and negotiating with suppliers to maintain cost-effective operations.
- Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety regulations and maintaining a safe working environment for staff and customers.
- Handling customer enquiries, resolving complaints, and ensuring high standards of customer satisfaction.
- Developing and maintaining policies, procedures, and operational standards for the shop.
- Preparing and managing budgets, monitoring financial performance, and controlling expenses to achieve profitability targets.
- Leading staff training and development to enhance technical knowledge and customer service skills.
- Any other duties the employer reasonably requires to ensure the effective running of the business.
Additional Information:
- This is a full-time, permanent position.
- Wages range from $27 to $50 per hour, depending on your skills and experience. You will be paid weekly.
- Holiday pay and sick leave will be provided in accordance with New Zealand employment law.
- You will work in Auckland.
- The role operates 5 days per week, with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours and a maximum of 48 hours per week.
