Permanent Cellar Hand
Awatere River Wine Company is located in Marlborough’s Awatere Valley producing premium Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris and Methode sparkling wine from our vineyards. Awatere River Wine Company is part of Booster Wine Group, which is a collection of NZ wineries and including Gravity (Nelson), and Sileni Wines (Hawke’s Bay).
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated person for a permanent cellar hand role, based at our Marlborough winery, Awatere River wines. Winery and vintage experience is preferred, however we will consider applicants with similar primary industry experiences.Applicants will require sound attention to detail, strong interpersonal and team skills, motivation, initiative, and the stamina required to be effective in a busy environment.
For the majority of the year this role will be 40 hours per week. Monday - Friday. During the vintage (grape harvest) period, weekend work and 12-hour shifts will be required. Full and comprehensive training is provided for this role. Day to day work will include, transfers of wine and juice, barrel work, cellar cleaning, tanker and flexi container filling and general winery cellar work.

The cellar hand role will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to be part of a close-knit, friendly team who are dedicated to producing quality wines. We offer a broad range of winery experiences including small-lot hand-picked vineyard parcels, as well as the opportunity to be working closely with new technologies such as Continuous flotation & Omnia filtration.Transport to and from Blenheim to the Awatere valley is provided.
