- What you'll do The Deputy Registrar (Assisted Dying) plays a pivotal role in supporting the statutory functions of the End of Life Choice Act 2019.
This senior position provides technical expertise, strategic advice, and leadership to ensure effective administration of the Act.
This involves building strong relationships across health and regulatory sectors, enhancing data and quality systems, and contributing to legislative and policy development.You will have the opportunity to shape frameworks and solutions that uphold safety, integrity, and compassion in end-of-life care.

- What you'll bring You will hold a current registration as a Medical Practitioner with the New Zealand Medical Council and an annual practising certificateSignificant post-vocational/speciality medical practice experience, with broad clinical expertise and ideally regulation or quality assurance backgroundStrong knowledge of the End-of-Life Choice Act 2019, health quality and safety processes, and complaint management systemsProven ability to think critically, make sound decisions under pressure, and communicate complex ideas clearly and coherentlyDemonstrated experience building and maintaining effective professional relationships across health, government, and stakeholder networks, with resilience in diverse contexts Ngā hua o tō mātou whare
