- about the role In December2022, Te Kawa Mataaho Public Service Commission conducted an independent review into the culture of Fire and Emergency New Zealand.
As part of the review, recommendations were made to support a positive and inclusive environment for its people resulting in the creation of the Eke Taumata Programme.
Reporting to the Programme Manager of Eke Taumata, the Project Manager/Workstream Lead is responsible for leading a programme of work for the Safe, Positive and Inclusive Workstream.Along with a team, you will embed our new Code of Conduct/Te Tikanga Whanonga with a comprehensive suite of supporting policies that clearly outline the expected standards of behaviour and conduct of all levels of staff at Fire and Emergency New Zealand.
This will include the development of an education programme and suite of supporting guidance that supports managers to appropriately respond to and address inappropriate behaviour and conduct.The workstream will also be giving affect to our newly launched Diversity and Inclusion Strategy with two system level projects already underway.
Leverage your expertise in Human Resources and project delivery to embed our Code of Conduct / Te Tikanga Whanonga, develop practical guidance for managers to address inappropriate behaviour and conduct, and drive system-level projects through from our Diversity and Inclusion strategy.
This is a fixed term position from ASAP through to 30 June 2026.
Ko tāu nā i tēnei tūranga- What you'll bring to the role:You will be an experienced senior project manager, who can provide oversight while delivering multiple concurrent projects within the programme of work.
Running on a high trust model, where you can build and foster positive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, you will have strong accountability to manage the teams and your own workload, while maintaining clear communication with the wider team.
To be successful in this role, we'd expect you will have: Proven experience embedding foundational documents that shape and support organisational culture.Expertise in developing comprehensive guidance and educational programmes to equip leaders in effectively addressing HR-related matters in line with our policies and guidelines.Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects, engaging and facilitating collaboration across a wide range of stakeholders.Strong delivery focus, with the ability to work at pace and meet key milestones.Excellent stakeholder management, clear communication and writing skills.Prior experience managing a team and including effective delegation and workload prioritisation.Experience in HR disciplines is desirable The salary range for this role is $141,145- $156,827 (pro rata), dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
