We're seeking an experienced and hands-on Turf Farm Manager to oversee the daily operations of our turf farm based in Napier, Hawkes Bay. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the production of high-quality turf, ensuring efficient farm operations, and maintaining strict quality control standards.
We're seeking an experienced and hands-on Turf Farm Manager to oversee the daily operations of our turf farm based in Napier, Hawkes Bay. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the production of high-quality turf, ensuring efficient farm operations, and maintaining strict quality control standards.
The successful candidate will work alongside Instant Green management staff, uphold Instant Greens Values, and deliver the best turf in NZ.
Key Responsibilities:
- Turf Production: Oversee the entire turf production process, including planting, irrigation, fertilization, and harvesting.
- Crop Management: Monitor turf health, identify issues, and implement corrective actions to ensure optimal crop quality and yield.
- Farm Operations: Manage farm equipment, maintenance, and repairs to ensure efficient operations.
- Quality Control: Implement and maintain strict quality control measures to ensure turf exceeds customer specifications and industry standards.
- Customer Service: Liaise with customers, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure farm operations comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices.
Requirements:
- Experience in turf farming or a related agricultural field.
- Strong knowledge of machinery, turf production, crop management, and farm operations.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ideally W,T,R endorsed and Class 2 or 4 license preferable but not mandatory
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with farm equipment and machinery.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
