-month fixed term opportunityBased in Wellington at our National OfficeLead a complex project that supports our frontline staff and the people we manageBe part of a team delivering life-changing digital solutions across Aotearoa Join our digital whānau and help modernise our infrastructure and technology platforms!Mō te tūnga | About the roleWe have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to join our Offender Management Systems team, at our Wellington National Office on a 9-month fixed term basis.This Product team is responsible for the delivery and maintenance of systems and digital assets used by our frontline staff, and people living in prison or the community.As a Senior IT Project Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring our projects are successfully scope, planned and delivered, and reflect our values and vision.

To be successful you will need a strong focus on collaboration, quality, and outcomes, working with other teams across our Digital organisation to be successful.Your key responsibilities will include:Leading day-to-day delivery of the first phase of a project plan to support and enhance the delivery of our core legacy system used by our front lineLead the discovery phase for the next phase, working with architects and technical leads to understand the actions, priorities and dependencies needed to make it a success, including detailed project plans, budgets, schedulesSupport the Programme Manager to create an investment case for the next phase through development of a phased implementation plan and resources required to deliver the outcomeManage cross-product group engagement and communication and manage stakeholder requirementsWork closely with the Manager, Offender Management Systems and Programme Manager to ensure delivery objectives are met across scope, time, cost, and qualityProvide strong delivery leadership across vendors and internal technical teams, managing integration, sequencing and resource constraintsLead risk, issue, and dependency management, with a focus on technical, legacy, and operational risksProvide timely and reliable reporting to key forums on delivery health, risks and critical path impactsEnsure solutions are delivered to agreed standards and transitioned into operational support environmentsMōu | About you We are looking for someone who has proven experience developing and delivering large, complex legacy application projects, with a strong focus on system hosting and service improvement.

You must be comfortable operating in multi-vendor environments, and have a solid understanding of infrastructure, data platforms, and application lifecycles.You're also skilled in governance, stakeholder engagement, and developing clear, credible investment cases.Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experienceWe're looking for someone with practical experience managing large and complex projects related to the hosting and performance (and potential migration) of core legacy applications.

This may include experience with migrating complex platforms to Azure, developing Data Products, use of APIM, simplifying environments and/or evaluating recovery options.You'll also bring:A proven track record of delivering public sector projects on time and within budgetExperience with ADO and methodologies such as Agile(Scrum/Kanban) and SAfe (a qualification is a bonus)Familiarity with government procurement and change management processesStrong communication and facilitation skillsThe ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiencesExcellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus.Utu ā-tau | SalaryThe midpoint of the salary range is $162,543 per annum and the full range (85%-120%) is $145,192
  • $204,977 per annum.
