Purpose of Job?
  1. To maintain efficient, consistent and cost effective production of food by following the Lone Star bible requirements.
  2. To satisfy customers by giving them a flawless eating experience.
  3. To operate in and maintain a clean and orderly kitchen.
Education/Experience Necessary?
  • Has experience working as a chef
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate required
  • Certificate in professional cookery stages 1,2,3 or City & Guilds qualification is beneficial
  • First Aid Certificate is beneficial

  • To follow all relevant LSF or site specific procedures and checklists
  • To follow instructions, take direction with respect and work in any section you are assigned with a good attitude
  • To act respectfully towards all fellow workers including Bar and FOH
  • Follow Lone Star recipes to the letter as specified in the Kitchen Bible
  • To prepare and serve food with pride and passion

  • Correct uniform is worn as specified in the Operations Manual and How to be a Star induction Manual
  • Personal hygiene is a the highest standard as specified in the Operations Manual and How to be a Star induction Manual
Self Development
Tasks and Expected Results
  • To thoroughly read and digest your contract, Job Description, How to be a Star Manual and ‘house rules’ so that you are aware of all specific rules and requirements
  • Undergoing personal training in areas where up-skilling or updating is necessary for example attending courses to further knowledge of all aspects of the food and hospitality industry
  • Attend any staff meetings necessary
  • Working/focusing on areas where personal weaknesses lie. Being open to feedback and criticism in order to improve the kitchen
Self Responsibility
Tasks and Expected Results
  • To ensure that no alcohol is consumed during shift hours by yourself and staff
  • To ensure that any drinking after your shift is finished is carried out responsibly (no loitering) and that alcohol blood levels are legal if you are driving home
  • To report any theft of Lone Star property (including drinks and food) or any dishonest behaviour
