Position: Facilities Manager
Location: Auckland, New Zealand
Employment type: Full-time
Salary: $85,000–$115,000 per annum (depending on experience)

We are seeking a reliable, experienced, and proactive Facilities Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our 33-room rest home. You’ll be responsible for maintaining a safe, welcoming, and high-performing environment for residents, staff, and visitors, while ensuring compliance with all relevant health and aged-care regulations.

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operational functions, including maintenance, cleaning, catering, and safety
  • Coordinate building maintenance, repairs, equipment servicing, and asset management
  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation and aged-care standards
  • Manage facility-related budgets, control expenditure, and liaise with suppliers and contractors
  • Support recruitment, training, rostering, and performance management of non-clinical staff
  • Act as a point of contact for residents, families, health professionals, and regulatory bodies
  • Prepare for and participate in external audits and inspections
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all documentation meets compliance standards
  • Qualifications & Skills
  • NZ Certificate (Level 4 or higher) in Health & Wellbeing, Facilities Management, or Business preferred
  • At least 3–5 years’ experience in aged care, healthcare, or property/facility management
  • Strong working knowledge of:
o Health and Safety at Work Act 2015
o Nga Paerewa Health and Disability Services Standards
o Building compliance and asset management
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills
  • Confident with IT systems and care management platforms (e.g., VCare, MediMap)
  • Full NZ Driver’s Licence required
  • First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
