The opportunity
We're looking for an Orchard Supervisor to join our team in Kerikeri for the 2026 season. This is a hands-on, high-energy role for someone who enjoys being out in the orchard, leading by example and keeping teams moving toward clear goals.
Working closely with the Orchard Manager, you'll play a key role in delivering seasonal work programmes across Seeka-managed orchards. You'll lead orchard teams and contractors, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to Seeka's quality standards while achieving strong production outcomes.
What you'll be doing- Supervising day-to-day orchard operations including picking, pruning and general vine work
- Training, coaching and developing orchard teams to build capability and consistency
- Monitoring performance and motivating teams and contractors to meet productivity and quality targets
- Championing health and safety, ensuring all work is completed in line with requirements and best practice
- Coordinating daily priorities with the Orchard Manager and clearly communicating plans to teams
- Clear, confident communication skills and the ability to engage a diverse workforce
- A collaborative, practical leadership style that brings out the best in others
- Strong planning and organisation skills to manage changing priorities and seasonal pressures
- The ability to quickly grasp new concepts and understand how daily tasks link to bigger outcomes
- Flexibility to work varied hours to meet the demands of the season
- Experience in kiwifruit, horticulture or the wider primary industry
- A sound understanding of health and safety legislation and practical application
- A full driver's licence and reliable transport (preferred)
