About the Role We are looking for an enthusiastic,innovative and committed registered nurse to join the National Youth Secure Forensic Inpatient team at Kenepuru Hospital.We offer an MDT approach to specialisedassessment and treatment for youth offenders with mental health problems withina bi-cultural model of care.
We work within a framework of clinical governance and are a progressive servicecommitted to providing a culture of ongoing professional development for staffthrough regular supervision, an excellent professional development andrecognition programme (PDRP), regular in-service training and support towardsexternal education.
You will be required toprovide 24 hour assessment and care to our rangatahi (young people) inconjunction with the MDT. You will also be responsible for the oversight of theunregulated workforce. About theTeam/Service Location NgaTaiohi is the national secure youth forensic 10 beds unit for the treatment of Rangatahi (young people)with severe health and/or alcohol and other drugs (AOD) issues who haveoffended or alleged to have offended and are involved in New Zealand's justicesystem.
About youPrevious youth and/orforensic experience preferred.Registrationwith the Nursing Council of New Zealand as a Registered Nurse. Demonstratesan understanding of the significance of and obligations under Te Tiriti oWaitangi, including how to apply Te Tiriti principles in a meaningful way inthe nursing role.A commitment to achieving equitable outcomesfor Māori.A personalcommitment to on-going learning and development includingattainment/maintenance of PDRP .Applicants must hold a currentPractising Certificate.Full drivers licence.Working at HealthNew Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is'the weaving of wellness'.
